The story behind Sounds of Silence

The name of the project reflects the unique story behind the song "Sounds of Silence", as a story of a joint creation in the musical world. I chose to tell the story of Simon and Garfunkel, because without the chain of events, the duo and the song they wrote, wouldn't have been universally recognised. I chose to present the story using the AR - Augmented Reality technology, using three - dimensional animation and a combination of unique sound clips based on the song itself. The technique, like the idea of synergy itself, requires the audience to take an active and inseparable part of the work.

The story

The song was written by Paul Simon over several months in 1963 and 1964.
The album was a commercial failure and led to the duo disbanding; Simon returned to England, and Art Garfunkel to his studies.

In 1965, the song began to attract airplay at radio stations. The growing airplay led Tom Wilson, the song's producer, to remix the track, overdubbing electric instruments and drums. This remixed version was released as a single in September 1965. Simon & Garfunkel were not informed about it.
The remix hit No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 for the week

Technique

Augmented Reality technology, using 3D animation with a combination of unique sound clips, based on the song itself.

3D Print

As part of the Trigger Element process, seven models were printed.
The models were printed with a 3D printer - PLA, with a hight of 30 cm.

Synergy App

Application development using unity.
Establishing a connection between the camera system and the identification of the printed 3D element And finally, UX/UI design.

The audience Takes over The camera

which serves as a sort of window into historical stories using an innovative technique. This technique enables the audience to observe and wander through the story, thus enabling each and every person to create a personal and different experience.

Multi Track Player

You can list multiple tracks in this nice little widget. In theory, this is very similar to the global player example, except the player and the songs are presented together as one unit.
